The Oregon FFA State Convention is an annual event held to celebrate the Oregon FFA Association’s accomplishments as well as kick off a new year for the organization. Nearly 3,000 students, teachers, parents, and volunteers come together to participate in this four day event full of contests, presentations, workshops, and MORE!

Oregon Agriculture in the Classroom and Oregon Aglink are excited to partner with the Oregon FFA Association and Foundation to bring an additional element of public education to the event.

Elementary Classroom Event

Third through fifth grade classrooms in the Central Oregon area are invited to attend this unique, fun-filled day. Classes will rotate through several educational booths on a variety of agricultural topics. There is no cost to participate and bus stipends are available on a first-come-first-serve basis! Activities include: growing dirt babies, making pumpkin pie in a bag, a petting zoo, irrigation simulation, cow milking, relays, and MUCH MORE!

Spear headed by Oregon Agriculture in the Classroom and Oregon Aglink we are excited to engage youth within the Redmond area in conversations about agriculture!

Career and Education Show

At every State Convention, FFA members are able to participate in an event where they can talk with colleges and businesses they might be interested in attending or one day working with. This year, the Career Show will be open to the public and will also include organizations with the mission to educate about a variety of agricultural topics. This revitalized Career and Education Show will provide convention goers an in-depth look at agriculture in Oregon! The Career and Education Show will run the Saturday and Sunday of Convention.

March 25-26, 2017

Set Up: March 24th

Each 10’x10′ booth space (includes 1 table and 2 chairs) will cost $250 for businesses and $150 for non-profit organizations. Outdoor space for equipment is available at a cost of $200 a space for businesses and $150 for non-profit organizations.

All organizations participating in the Career and Education Show will be required to refrain from selling any products or services during the event.

**New this year, there will also be a “Cowboy Christmas” style bazaar at Convention. Organizations interested in participating in that event should follow this link.**

FFA Ag Advocacy Award

The purpose of this award is to encourage community agriculture awareness projects in Oregon’s FFA/high school agriculture programs. Cash prizes of $150, $125, $100, and $75 will be awarded to the top four award recipients to continue the development and expansion of their agriculture awareness projects. The top four teams will be awarded banners and recognized on stage during a general session at the Oregon FFA State Convention.

Based on applications, the top teams will be invited to present a fifteen-minute prepared presentation about the group’s agricultural awareness efforts to a committee during State Convention. More details will be sent to the advisor if the team is selected for presentations.

Complete and return the application to Oregon AITC by March 8, 2017.
