July 27-28, 2023 | Redmond, Oregon

Join us for a two-day immersive experience into the world of agriculture!  We invite Oregon middle and high school science teachers to apply to attend this two day professional development opportunity to discover science themes in vegetable production. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from Oregon State University Extension researchers and local farmers about soil, water and vegetable production. Learn about the science researchers and farmers use that can be integrated into classroom curriculum! See specific qualifications and application below.

Experience Agriculture through NGSS!

Take a deep dive into the science of agriculture! Participants will spend two days touring production facilities and exploring NGSS aligned curriculum related to agricultural topics. Participants will explore renewable and nonrenewable resources, the water footprint of agriculture, climate science, engineering alternative growing methods and more! Leave this workshop will curriculum, resources and over $100 in supplies to integrate agricultural concepts into your classroom!

Date & Times: July 27-28, 2023
The two day workshop will begin at 8:30 am (PST) and end around 5:30 pm (PST) both days.

Location: Redmond, Oregon 
Transportation to the offsite tours will be provided.

Cost: FREE
(Upon application approval, a $50 deposit will be required to hold your spot in the institute. After completing the institute, the deposit will be returned to participants. The deposit will be non-refundable if a cancellation occurs after June 26.)

A $800 stipend will be provided to participants to cover the cost of travel expenses.

Lunch will be provided during the 2-day workshop. All other meals are on your own.
