Are you interested in supporting the 2026 Literacy Project? One way you can do so is to contribute to the program. All donations toward the Literacy Project support the project itself, including materials and time.
Each year, we reach almost 20,000 Oregon students through the Literacy Project. Just $0.65 is all it takes to help one student participate in the program. At $17, one whole classroom. For a contribution level of $1,000, you can help reach over 50 classrooms in Oregon!
This year, the project focuses on Oregon berries, teaching students about the life cycles of six of the most prominent Oregon-grown berries.
If this sounds like the opportunity for you, use the form below to support the program today!

The goal of Oregon AITC’s Agricultural Literacy Project is to improve both the reading and agricultural literacy of Oregon students in grades K-4. Each year a new agriculturally-themed book is chosen and a lesson is developed that reinforces the message of the book.

If the teacher selects the option to have a volunteer present the project, volunteers will work with the classroom teacher to schedule times to read to students grades K-4. Start to finish, the reading and lesson take 45 minutes. The program is FREE and all materials are completely prepared by Oregon Agriculture in the Classroom. Each participating classroom receives a copy of the book.
If the teacher prefers to present this project to their students themselves. Oregon Agriculture in the classroom will mail all materials a copy of the book for the class to keep.
