Food can be a joyful means for teaching various subjects, all while meeting curriculum requirements across early childhood grade levels. Yet food nutrition and health literacy encounter ever-shifting social norms, practices, and policy. In this workshop, educators will learn from our host educator at OSU Extension Services how to obtain reliable food nutrition resources and learn how to integrate practical and accessible sensory-based techniques within classroom instruction to help students develop positive habits and relationships with the food of our everyday lives. lives.

Practical steps while following district nutrition regulations regarding food in the classroom
Ideas and resources for introducing a “food adventure” into classroom curriculum

Free classroom resources will be mailed out to participating educators proceeding the workshop. Educators must be present to receive materials.
