Oregon Agriculture in the Classroom is hosting virtual and in-person professional development opportunities to provide educators with ready to implement resources that integrate agriculture in to existing curriculum. Lessons and activities are aligned to Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), Oregon Common Core Standards (CCSS) and Oregon Social Sciences Standards (OSSS). VIRTUAL Beef and Cattle Workshop
Date: Wednesday, May 21 from 3:45 – 5:15 PM
We are excited to offer a virtual version of our Beef and Cattle workshop that we hosted last month! Join us as we explore the importance of beef and cattle in Oregon. Plus, attendees will receive over $100 of free classroom materials! Materials include a classroom resource kit, poster, books, and more!

This workshop is FREE to attend.  This workshop is open to educators K-12 with Next Generation Science Standards aligned curriculum.

April 2025
Beef and Cattle in Central Oregon
Date: Friday, April 18th, from 4 – 6:30 PM AND Saturday, April 19th, from 9 AM – 1 PM
Location: Bend/Redmond area
Join us at OSU Cascades on Friday, April 18, to learn more about beef and cattle resources offered by Oregon Agriculture in the Classroom. Participants will receive a classroom resource kit, poster, books, and other giveaways. Light appetizers will be provided.

Then, join us on Saturday, April 19, to tour a Feed Lot and hear from industry personnel working with Beef and Cattle in Central Oregon. Lunch will be provided.

This workshop is FREE to attend. When registering, please expect to attend BOTH days of the workshop. This workshop is open to educators K-12 with Next Generation Science Standards aligned curriculum.

Cheese is Whey Cool
Date: Thursday, November 7, 2024, 4:00 – 5:00 pm PST
Location: Virtual via Zoom
Join us as we hear from Claudia Lucero with Urban Cheesecraft about how to make mozzarella cheese in your classroom! Participants of this workshop will receive a FREE cheese-making kit and curriculum materials to be used in their classroom. This workshop is open to educators K-12 with Next Generation Science Standards aligned curriculum.

Exploring Aquaponics
Date: Tuesday, September 24, 2024, 3:30 – 4:30 pm PST
Location: Virtual via Zoom
Learn about aquaponics and the symbiotic relationship between plants and fish! Participants of this workshop will receive a FREE aquaponics system and curriculum materials to be used in their classroom. This workshop is open to educators K-12 with Next Generation Science Standards aligned curriculum.
