Oregon Agriculture in the Classroom is hosting virtual and in-person professional development opportunities to provide educators with ready to implement resources that integrate agriculture in to existing curriculum. Lessons and activities are aligned to Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), Oregon Common Core Standards (CCSS) and Oregon Social Sciences Standards (OSSS). 2022-23 Professional Development

January 2023
Classroom Greenhouse, Grades K-12
Location: Lane County
Grow plants in your classroom with a pop-up greenhouse! Participants in this workshop will receive a classroom greenhouse and materials to start seeding plants in your classroom. We will share tips and tricks of utilizing this system in the classroom with students.

February 2023
Food Sensory, Grades K-12
Location: TBD
Learn how taste and smell are interconnected in this fun experiment! Explore new opportunities in the Food Science industry for  prospective careers and areas of study.

April 2023
Bees, Grades K-12
Location: TBD
Explore the anatomical features of honey bees and learn about the process of creating honey. Participants will get the opportunity to talk to a bee keeper and experienced elementary teacher about integrating honey curriculum in their classroom. Upon completion of the workshop, teachers will receive materials to make products of beeswax with their students. Geared towards students in grades K-12.
