Oregon is home to a plethora of organizations specializing in garden and farm education. Some even offer field trips and classroom visits!
Portland Metro Area
Zenger Farm This is a working farm striving to educate the surrounding community about models for sustainable food systems, community development, environmental stewardship, and food equity. Field trips are offered year round, and can usually accommodate up to 90 participants. Costs vary according to need, and financial assistance is available.
Sauvie Island Center  Farm-based elementary school field trips are offered in Spring and Fall. Content varies seasonally, but can include a compost/soil investigation, plant parts investigation, food web, seed to harvest, and/or a pollinator investigation. Each trip costs $150, and can accommodate up to 35 students. Scholarship funds are available.
Jackson Bottom Wetland Preserve   Jackson Bottom offers field trip and classroom programs that connect natural resources with academic standards. Fees are associated with most programs. Topics include pollinators, birds, wetlands, and much more!
B-Street Farm   This teaching and working farm is happy to partner with schools in cooking and farm tour field trips. There is no established field trip program, however staff are ready and willing to collaborate with interested teachers.
Eden Acres  Eden Acres educators offer field trips and traveling programs that focus on skills such as fire making and medicinal plants, and partner with Foodways at Nana Cardoon to provide cooking field trips centered on ancient grains. They are also willing to custom design a program to meet educator needs.

Corvallis Environmental Center  The center is home to SAGE, a 1-acre education and production garden. Over 3 tons of organic produce are donated to the community annually! This site offers spring and fall field trips that focus on pollinators, plants, and food webs. Fees are associated with this program, contact SAGE for more details!

Master Gardeners   Master Gardeners throughout Oregon can be a resource to your classrooms. Contact your local organization to request a guest speaker.
